Description

Showy 5 cm clusters of ball-shaped, red buds are cradled in soft, silvery foliage. They open to starry white flowers with prominent yellow centres and stiff, papery texture. Vernalization is required for flowering. Bulking prior to vernalization is highly recommended. Foliage is attractive all summer, especially if given a light shearing after flowering. Blooms March through May in the UK. Hardy in UK in well-drained soil. Plants do not like winter wet. A choice container candidate, forming a tidy, uniform mound of silvery leaves. Comes to Rozanne and Friends™ from English gardener Chris Bowyer.
