Michael Hart

Michael Hart discovered Helianthemum Hartswood Ruby at his nursery in Worcestershire, England.

On seeing it flower and recognizing the plant’s potential, he began trials in various places on his nursery. Encouraged by the results, he successfully obtained Plant Breeders’ Rights. Plants were sent to a UK National Collection and Must Have Perennials™ for further evaluation.

His find is now commercially available in Europe, North America and Japan.

Helianthemum Hartswood Ruby boasts saucer-shaped, 1-inch (2.5 cm) flowers of velvety true red. Its long-blooming flowers persist from May into July – a month longer than other Helianthemum varieties.
