Recently two of our propagators gained industry recognition via the Greenhouse Grower’s Evening of Excellence. AmericanHort’s Cultivate, the horticulture industry’s renowned professional development event, recognized these propagators. Our largest all-industry trade show includes best-in-class tours and workshops, in addition to comprehensive professional, technical, networking and staff development opportunities.
Head Grower of the Year Finalist, Gulley Greenhouse, Inc.
Jan Gulley of Gulley Greenhouse, Inc., Ft. Collins, Colorado, was a Finalist for the 2017 Head Grower of the Year Award. Jan devotes much of her time to researching new methods to keep and maintain perennial stock. In addition, she uses her vast knowledge to tailor growing space for Gulley’s large selection of perennial varieties.
Although Jan did not win the Head Grower of the Year Award, she did receive the 2017 Excellence of Education Award for her role in educating herself, her team of growers plus horticulture students on perennial plant production.
Operation of the Year, North Creek Nurseries
And last year at this same event, North Creek Nurseries was named 2016 Operation of the Year! They also earned the award for Excellence in Sustainable Production. North Creek is known for their mission of propagating the finest quality plants to enhance the relationship between people and sustainable outdoor environments.
Owner Steve Castorani started North Creek Nurseries in 1988 with partner Dale Hendricks. Castorani, GM Tim McGinty and the North Creek team have made significant contributions to the plant propagation and production industry. In addition, he is a firm believer in growing plants safely and sustainably.
